Most Timberjack skidders use a Detroit Diesel 53 series engine. Servicing is done by their representative, covering routine checks only.
Fuel System:
Use good quality #1 or #2 diesel fuel. Always use clean fuel to prevent downtime from plugged filters and damaged injectors. The system has primary and secondary filters that should be drained daily and replaced regularly as per the maintenance schedule.
Engine RPM:
Set by Detroit Diesel and checked by Eaton Yale Ltd. before leaving the factory, no adjustment should be necessary. If adjustments are needed, follow the Series 53 Operators Manual.
