Preparation for Storage
The operations to place a machine into storage (-15°C
to 44° C) are given below.
1Park the machine safely with the bucket and dipper
rams retracted and the dig end outstretched. Lowerthe boom until the bucket rests on the ground.
Lower the dozer to the ground.
2Switch off the engine. Operate controls to releasepressure from the rams.
3Disconnect battery to prevent discharge.
4Ensure the fuel tank is filled to a maximum, leavingno air space.
5Ensure hydraulic tank is filled to maximum on thesight gauge.
6Spray exposed ram rods with Waxoyl.
7Slacken off rubber tracks until no visible springtension exists.Preparation after Storage
The operations to remove a machine from storage (-
15°C to 44°C) and prepare it for use are given below.
1Lower the fuel level to ensure that sufficient air space
exists in the tank.
correct levels as necessary.
3Ensure the battery is fully charged.
4Reconnect battery.
5Remove electrical contact from fuel injection pumpsolenoid.
6Crank engine for 15 seconds or until oil pressurewarning light goes out.
7Reconnect electrical supply to the fuel injection pumpsolenoid.
8Start the engine. If the engine fails to start afterseveral attempts, bleed the fuel system.
9Adjust track tensions.
10Grease all lubrication points.1 -
