Manual Extract Relief Valve
The relief valve for the steering system is located in the flow control valve. The pressure setting of the relief valve is 1900 to 2100 psi (13,100 to 14,480 kPa).
The relief valve for the steering system is not adjustable.
If the relief valve does not have the correct pressure setting, replace the spool in the flow control valve.
Pressure Setting Check
1. The temperature of the oil must be at least 125° F (52°C).
2. If the tubes at the outlet of the pump do not feel very warm, the oil must be heated.
a. Start and run the engine at full throttle.
b. Hold the bucket control lever in the ROLLBACK position for 30 seconds.
c. Return the bucket control lever to the HOLD position for 30 seconds.
d. Repeat this step until the temperature of the oil is as specified.
3. Lower the bucket to the floor.
4. Stop the engine and apply the parking brake.
5. Connect a O to 5000 psi (0 to 34,475 kPa) pressure gauge to the quick disconnect coupling at the front of the pump.
6. Install the cap on the hydraulic reservoir.
7. Start and run the engine at full throttle.
8. Turn the steering wheel to the right until the machine stops turning.
9. Continue to hold the steering wheel for a full right turn and read the pressure at the gauge.
10. The pressure gauge must indicate 1900 to 2100 psi (13,100 to 14,480 kPa).
11 . If the pressure setting is not correct, replace the spool in the flow control valve. The main relief valve is a part of the spool
