Manual Extract: Driving wheel shaft – Disassemble
Avoid injury!
Handle all parts carefully. Do not place your hands or fingers between parts. Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as indicated in this manual, including protective goggles, gloves, and safety footwear.
Failure to comply could result in death or serious injury.
With the final drive casing removed from the rear transmission, proceed as follows:
1. Remove the drive wheel shaft lock bolt safety plate (1).
2. Unscrew the bolt securing the driven gear support (1) on the driving wheel shaft and retrieve the safety plate.
3. Extract the support (1) from the driven gears and remove the end float adjuster shim from the support.
4. Connect the lateral final drive (1) to a hoist (2) and raise, checking that the wheel axle leaves the housing (tap on the end of the driving gear axle with a rubber mallet to ease it out).
