Flushing the system
To flush the system, proceed as follows:
1. Turn the temperature control knob (1) onto the red sector in position (2) figure 1. This ensures the complete drain of the coolant.
2. With cold engine loosen and remove the expansion tank cap (1) figure 2.
3. Remove the radiator cap (1) figure 3 and drain the coolant. Reassemble the radiator cap (1).
4. Fill the expansion tank up to the notch (2) figure 2 with a filtered solution of soda Solvay and water in a ratio of 250 g (8.8 oz) of soda to every 10 L (2.64 US gal) of water.
5. Retighten the expansion tank cap (1) figure 2.
6. Run the tractor for about an hour.
7. Shut down the engine.
8. Wait that the engine cools then remove the drain cap (1) figure 3 of the radiator and drain the washing solution.
9. Circulate pure water by pouring it into the expansion tank and allowing it to drain from the radiator drain hole.
10. Reassemble the drain plug (1) figure 3 of the radiator and fill the expansion tank with water up to the notch (2) figure 2.
11. Start up the engine for a few minutes and drain again the system as previously described.
12. Fill the radiator through the expansion tank with new coolant up to the notch (2) figure 1 and leave the expansion tank open.
13. Start the engine and allow it to run until the engine's thermostatic valve will be opened and all the air will be ejected by the cooling system (the coolant level in the expansion tank should decrease).
14. Stop the engine, wait for the coolant to cool and top the coolant up to the notch (2) figure 1.
15. Refit the cap (1) figure 1.
