Manual Extract: Steering cylinder – Remove the steering and crab cylinders
NOTICE: The below procedures show the removal of the right-hand side steering cylinder. The procedure is the same to remove the right-hand side and left-hand side steering cylinders and the crab cylinder. Differences (if any) are identified.
NOTICE: Only remove hydraulic cylinders that must be repaired or replaced.
1. Remove the bolts, spring washers and lock plate (10) which secure the cylinder head pin.
2. Drive out the pin and detach the cylinder head from the articulation joint. Retain the rings for installation.
NOTE: In case of the crab cylinder, the cylinder head is attached to the frame.
3. Remove the bolts, spring washers and lock plate (10) which secure the steering cylinder rod end pin.
4. Drive out the pin and detach the cylinder rod end from the frame. Retain the rings for installation.
NOTE: In case of the crab cylinder, the cylinder rod end is attached to the articulation joint.
5. Remove the cylinder from the bracket.
6. Remove the hoses from the cylinder.
