REMOVAL OF DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER FROM THE AXLE HOUSING (1) Place a hydraulic roller jack under the carrier.\u003cbr\u003eNOTICE\u003cbr\u003eTwo capscrews in the TOP of the carrier housing secure the carrier.\u003cbr\u003e(2) Remove all of the capscrews that secure the carrier to the axle housing, except the two capscrews in the TOP of the carrier.\u003cbr\u003e(3) Loosen the two capscrews in the TOP of the carrier, but do not remove them.\u003cbr\u003e(4) Loosen the carrier by striking the mounting flange at several points with a dead-blow hammer. Remove the two capscrews in the TOP of the carrier that secure the carrier to the axle housing.\u003cbr\u003e(5) Use a hydraulic roller jack and pry bar with a round end to remove the carrier from the axle housing. Take care when you use the pry bar so that you don't damage the carrier or housing flange.\u003cbr\u003e\u0026amp;WARNING\u003cbr\u003eTo avoid serious personal injury and damage to components, take care when using lifting devices during service and maintenance procedures.\u003cbr\u003eInspect a lifting strap to ensure that it is not damaged.
