The helical crownwheel and pinion assembly transmits the drive to the trumpet final drive units. A differential lock system with a dog clutch and activated by hydraulic pressure is incorporated into the unit.\u003cbr\u003eThe differential lock is controlled by the Autotronic.\u003cbr\u003e4-wheel drive clutch\u003cbr\u003eA driving gear attached to the pinion drives the counterdriven gear of the 4WD clutch assembly. Drive is then transmitted via the Belleville washers to the clutch output shaft.\u003cbr\u003eThe 4WD clutch is hydraulically activated. There is therefore no possibility of accidental disengagement of the 4WD clutch in the event of hydraulic failure.\u003cbr\u003ePower take-off drive line\u003cbr\u003eThe rotation of the shaft passing through the gearbox, proportional to engine speed, is transmitted to the hydraulic clutch located at the front of the centre housing.\u003cbr\u003eIn the clutch engaged position, drive is transmitted by an intermediate shaft and a set of driving and driven gears to the 540 or 1000 rpm PTO shaft. Speeds are selected by a system of interchangeable shafts or by shifting.\u003cbr\u003eA hydraulic brake mechanism stops the rotation of the PTO shaft in the disengaged position.\u003cbr\u003eTwo additional options are offered:\u003cbr\u003e– 4-speed (economy) PTO;\u003cbr\u003e– GSPTO.\u003cbr\u003eHand brake assembly\u003cbr\u003eA brake assembly comprising two discs and an expander mechanism is fitted to the gear.\u003cbr\u003eMain brakes\u003cbr\u003eTwo pistons fitted laterally into two cavities in the centre housing act on two discs attached to the trumpet housing input sun gears.
