If the line if fouled, replace it (and the pressure controller and air dryer also if necessary).\u003cbr\u003eWith the engine heated to operating temperature, follow the these instructions to check the oil consumption of the compressor:\u003cbr\u003e1. Disconnect the suction line.\u003cbr\u003e2. Disconnect the discharge line.\u003cbr\u003e3. Let the engine run for about 2 min at half of the maximum RPM.\u003cbr\u003e4. Position white paper on a fixed base in front of the compressor outlet —against air flow— for 5 min at an engine speed of about 1500 RPM.\u003cbr\u003e5. The compressor will leave a light oil mist on the paper when the oil consumption is low.\u003cbr\u003eIf oil consumption is high, a focused black field will appear on the paper.
