Remove the alternator (1) from the engine. Refer to page 4.\u003cbr\u003e2. If installed, remove the suppression capacitor.\u003cbr\u003eRefer page 12.\u003cbr\u003e3. Remove the regulator and brush box. Refer to page 12.\u003cbr\u003e4. Remove the three tie bolts and the nuts (2).\u003cbr\u003e5. Remove the rear cover (3) and the stator (4) as an assembly by tapping the front cover lugs with a soft mallet.\u003cbr\u003e6. Note the positions of and remove the nuts, the washers and the insulators (5) from the stud terminals.\u003cbr\u003e7. Remove the retaining screws (6).\u003cbr\u003e8. Remove the rectifier (7) and the stator (4) from the rear cover (3).\u003cbr\u003e9. Note the position of and remove the short insulator (8).\u003cbr\u003e10. Note the position of and remove the long insulator (9).\u003cbr\u003e11. Unsolder the stator leads (10) from the tags (11) and separate the stator (4) and the rectifier (7).\u003cbr\u003e12. Remove the nut and the spring washer (12).\u003cbr\u003e13. Remove the pulley (13), and the fan (14) and the spacer (15).\u003cbr\u003e14. Using a press, push the rotor shaft (16) out of the bearing in the front cover.\u003cbr\u003e15. Remove the spacer (17).\u003cbr\u003e16. Inspect and test the alternator.
