Inspect the control valve body for cracks, corrosion, and wear. Inspect the bores for wear. Find the bore from which the ball was removed. There is a very small orifice in one side of this bore. Make sure that this orifice is open. If the control valve body is bad, you must use a new transmission control valve.\u003cbr\u003e5. Find the plate that held the ball in position. Put the ball on the hole in the plate so that the ball is in contact with the edge that has the radius. Hold the plate and the ball up to a bright light and look at the bottom side of the plate and the ball.
